ABOUT
Culture & Community Converge
Rooted in Nosara’s jungle landscape while surprisingly dressed in old-world intention, La Casa de Malka fuses the timeless elegance of a 19th-century cultural salon with the warmth of a private home and the vitality of a modern creative hub. Conceived as a permanent destination for art, design, and cultural dialogue in a local traditionally known for surf and yoga, La Casa de Malka provides a refined setting for art exhibitions, quality cultural gatherings & performances, and exquisitely curated experiences celebrating the power of design to bring people together and better our world, one beautiful shared experience at a time.
The Vision
At its core, La Casa de Malka is about cultivating community through the joys of arts, food & drink, and gatherings. Serving as the creative hub and cultural salon of Nosara, inspired by the belief that beauty and connection are essential to life and healing. La Casa aims to create opportunity for connection between people across cultures, languages, and disciplines, a mosaic and melting pot where anything is possible and every detail is curated with love.
Our Founder
Malka Elah is an artist, designer, and musician living in Costa Rica with her two daughters. Her work bridges the ancient and the modern, the ornate and the natural. A lifelong devotion to calligraphy, history, and design. Shaped by years of travel and immersion in diverse cultures, she informs her distinctive aesthetic and her desire to create enduring spaces where beauty, craft, and spirit converge.
La Casa was envisioned as a mishkan (משכן) - the timeless dwelling place fit for the Divine Feminine to live among us. It is a sanctuary for embracing the holiness of the everyday, finding the sacred through the senses, and honoring the elements, all with killer taste, of course.
Malka invites those who enter to awaken their inner artist, love their neighbor, and offer reverence to madre de la selva — Mother Earth — whose quiet strength supports every step of our journey through magical Nosara.
